BisoprololΒ fumarate
Indications/Uses
Stable chronic heart failure w/ reduced systolic left ventricular function in addition to ACE inhibitors & diuretics & optionally cardiac glycosides. 5 mg & 10 mg: HTN, CHD (angina pectoris).
Dosage/Direction for Use
HTN/angina pectorisΒ Initially 5 mg once daily, may be increased to 10 mg once daily. Max: 20 mg once daily.Β Stable chronic heart failureΒ 1.25 mg once daily for 1 wk, if well-tolerated increase to 2.5 mg once daily for a further wk, if well-tolerated increase to 3.75 mg once daily for a further wk, if well-tolerated increase to 5 mg once daily for the following 4 wk, if well-tolerated increase to 7.5 mg once daily for the following 4 wk, if well-tolerated increase to 10 mg once daily for maintenance therapy. Max: 10 mg once daily.
