Indications/Uses
Treatment & suppression of herpes simplex infection. Prophylaxis of herpes simplex infection in immunocompromised patients. Varicella & herpes zoster infections.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Herpes simplex infectionsΒ 200 mg 5 times daily for 5-10 days.Β Suppression of herpes simplex infectionsΒ 200 mg 2-5 times daily for up to 6-12 mth or 400 mg bd.Β Prophylaxis of herpes simplex infections in immune-compromised patientΒ 200 mg qds, may be doubled in severely immune-compromised patient or patient w/ impaired gut absorption.Β Varicella & herpes zoster infectionsΒ 800 mg 5 times daily for 7-10 days.
