Ketoconazole
Indications/Uses
KetoconazoleΒ is used to treatΒ skinΒ infections such asΒ athlete’s foot,Β jock itch,Β ringworm, and certain kinds ofΒ dandruff. ThisΒ medicationΒ is also used to treat aΒ skinΒ condition known as pityriasis (tinea versicolor), aΒ fungal infectionΒ that causes a lightening or darkening of theΒ skinΒ of the neck, chest, arms, or legs. Ketoconazole is an azoleΒ antifungalΒ that works by preventing the growth ofΒ fungus.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply enough medication to cover the affectedΒ skinΒ and some of the surroundingΒ skin. After applying this medication,Β wash your hands. Do not wrap, cover or bandage the area unless directed to do so by your doctor.
