Per 228 mg/5 mL oral susp Amoxicillin trihydrate 200 mg, K clavulanate 28.5 mg.
Indications/Uses
Short-term treatment of upper & lower resp tract, skin & soft tissue, GUT infections. Tab & inj Short-term treatment of bone & joint & other infections. Tab & oral susp Dental infections. Inj Surgical prophylaxis against infections.
Dosage/Direction for Use
TabAdult & childn >12 yr Mild to moderate infections 625 mg bd. Severe infections 1 g bd. Adult CrCl >30 mL/min 625 mg bd or 1 g bd. CrCl 10-30 mL/min 625 mg bd, CrCl <10 mL/min Not >625 mg every 24 hr. 228 mg/5 mL oral susp Mild to moderate infections Childn 7-12 yr (22-40 kg) 10 mL bd, 2-6 yr (13-21 kg) 5 mL bd. Severe infections 2-6 yr (13-21 kg) 10 mL bd. 457 mg/5 mL oral susp Mild to moderate infections 7-12 yr (22-40 kg) 5 mL bd, 2-6 yr (13-21 kg) 2.5 mL bd. Severe infections 7-12 yr 10 mL bd, 2-6 yr (13-21 kg) 5 mL bd. Inj Adult, childn >12 yr & CrCl >30 mL/min 1.2 g 8 hrly, may be increased to 6 hrly. Childn 3 mth-12 yr 30 mg/kg 8 hrly, may be increased to 6 hrly, 0-3 mth 30 mg/kg every 12 hr, may be increased to every 8 hr. Surgical prophylaxis 1.2 g IV at anesth induction up to 3-4 doses in 24-hr period. CrCl 10-30 mL/min 1.2 g IV stat, followed by 600 mg IV 12 hrly, CrCl <10 mL/min 1.2 g IV stat, followed by 600 mg IV 24 hrly; additional 600 mg IV may need to be given during dialysis & at end of dialysis.
