Bisoprolol
Indications/Uses
Treatment of stable chronic heart failure with reduced systolic left ventricular function in addition to ACE inhibitors, and diuretics, and optionally, cardiac glycosides.
Concor 5 and 10 mg:Β Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension).
Treatment of coronary heart disease (angina pectoris).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Concor 5 mg:Β 1stΒ week: 1.25 mg bisoprolol fumarate once daily*.
2ndΒ week: 2.5 mg bisoprolol fumarate (Β½ tablet Concor 5) once daily.
3rdΒ week: 3.75 mg bisoprolol fumarate once daily*.
4thΒ – 7thΒ week: 5 mg bisoprolol fumarate (1 tablet Concor 5) once daily.
8thΒ – 11thΒ week: 7.5 mg bisoprolol fumarate (1Β½ tablets Concor 5) once daily.
12thΒ week and beyond: 10 mg bisoprolol fumarate (2 tablets Concor 5) once daily as maintenance treatment.
*Β Concor 5 is not suitable for initial treatment of stable chronic heart failure. Lower strengths are available for this purpose.
